The Virginia Firebirds proudly supports Beads of Courage, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and teens coping with serious illness, their families, and clinicians who care for them through their Arts-in-Medicine Programs”. This program operates in hospitals across the country and provides beads to children as they progress through their medical treatment. The beads, when added to their strand, represent strength and offer a meaningful symbol of courage displayed through their unique medical journey. The Firebirds donate beads quarterly and hosts annual events at the Workhouse Arts Center.

Sometimes it's just fun to be together, with or without glass
